Banff in the Rain
Bother! The rain caught up with us. And it is cold too, about 10 deg. The mountains are shrouded in mist. On the bright side: we saw moose in the field next to our hotel. And it is some kind of hotel!!! It’s a tourist attraction in itself - coaches park at the other side of the valley for photo opportunities! The Fairmont Banff Springs is huge - and I mean absolutely huge. We were issued with a map with our door key: entitled the “Key to the Castle”. This evening we even had to catch a shuttle bus to one of their restaurants. Mainly because of the rain, an the only other means of access is an external path to it which includes a long staircase down the hillside. It’s actually their own German style pub, with fine dining too.
