Rocky Mountaineer

We’re off!  And guess what? It’s Canada Day!  Just like Australia Day, with flags everywhere and people outside having fun, family BBQ’s etc.  The train was a little more subdued - no BBQ, just lots and lots of flags!!

Outside the views are always changing, and we even spotted some wild life: eagles, osprey and long horned sheep.  Not that we could capture those on camera.

Inside we are plied continuously with food and drink.  Tough life!!

Our first night’s stop is the small town of  Kamloops, which was celebrating Canada Day with Music in the Park and fireworks - all almost directly in front our hotel, so we have front seats.  The park is set on the river and has a little beach which we managed to capture just as the sun was setting.
